Tour Overview

Leave the resort strip behind and plunge into the wide, wind-carved emptiness of Egypt’s Eastern Desert on a half-day jeep safari from Hurghada. A sturdy 4×4 becomes your ride across ochre dunes, sun-bleached gravel plains and hidden hollows where nothing moves but the shimmer of heat. Stop at a Bedouin settlement to share glasses of sugary tea, meet resident camels and hear how families still thrive in this ancient landscape. When the afternoon light turns amber, you’ll watch the sun sink behind the ridges in a slow wash of coral and gold. Adventure, tradition and hospitality meet in a single sweeping outing. Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping (“baksheesh”) is a customary way to show appreciation for good service in Egypt. Though not mandatory, it is widely appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tipping is generally not included in your package price. We recommend carrying small USD or EGP bills for tipping convenience.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting between November and February, when winter brings mild days that are ideal for wandering pyramids, temples and open-air sites in comfort. The high summer stretch from June through August is worth avoiding for outdoor sightseeing, as thermometers regularly climb above 40°C (104°F) across much of the country.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Before you fly into Egypt, make sure the following essentials are in order:

  • Passport: Must remain valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date.

  • Visa: Rules vary by nationality — some travellers apply in advance, others receive one on arrival, and several passports qualify for the convenient e-visa.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly advised so you’re covered for medical costs and any unexpected disruption to your trip.

  • Vaccinations: None are officially required, but a quick chat with your doctor is wise to see which routine or recommended jabs suit your itinerary.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Tourism in Egypt is broadly regarded as safe, with visible security around major landmarks, resorts and city centres. Even so, it pays to review your government’s current travel guidance before departure and to keep an eye on local news while you’re on the ground.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Pin down when you’d like to go and roughly what you can spend. That single decision shapes everything from flight windows to the kind of hotels and tours within reach.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
From Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza to Luxor, Aswan, a Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts, Egypt is rich in choice. Sketch out which regions call loudest and how many nights each deserves.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
Book through a trusted Egyptian operator, an international agency or a reputable online platform focused on Egypt. Independent reviews and ratings are the fastest way to spot a partner you can rely on.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Ready-made packages bundle flights, hotels, transport and guided sightseeing into one tidy price, while tailor-made journeys let you shape every detail around your tastes, pace and budget.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you’ve chosen your route, get in touch to confirm availability. Your operator will collect basic passenger details along with either a deposit or full payment, depending on the terms.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Check that your passport is in date, sort your Egyptian visa if you need one, and keep printed and digital copies of your itinerary, hotel vouchers and tour confirmations to hand.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Dress for the season and the activities on your list. Comfortable walking shoes, high-SPF sunscreen, a refillable water bottle and a travel adapter earn their place in every suitcase.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
Once you land, lean on your guide, follow the plan you built together and give yourself over to Egypt’s astonishing sweep of history, landscape and everyday life.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, known locally as “baksheesh,” is part of the fabric of everyday life in Egypt and is rarely built into your tour price. Guides, drivers, porters and hotel staff all appreciate a small thank-you, and the amount should reflect how pleased you were with the service — generally in the range of 10-15% of the total bill or fare.
