Tour Overview

Trade the resort strip for a hushed, horseshoe bay south of Hurghada on this full-day snorkelling escape to Sharm El-Naga. A short transfer through the desert lands you at one of the Red Sea’s most beloved house reefs, where warm turquoise shallows meet a wall of living coral only a few fin-kicks from the sand. Rinse your mask, ease into the water, and glide above butterflyfish, parrotfish and darting anthias, with a fair chance of a green turtle grazing below or a spotted ray fanning the seabed. Between drifts, stretch out on the soft beach, top up your tan, and let the quiet lap of the bay do its work. Beginners find their confidence in the calm shallows, while regular snorkellers can venture along the drop-off. Reserve your Sharm El-Naga day trip with Daily Pyramids Tours.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping (“baksheesh”) is a customary way to show appreciation for good service in Egypt. Though not mandatory, it is widely appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tipping is generally not included in your package price. We recommend carrying small USD or EGP bills for tipping convenience.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting during the cooler winter stretch from November to February, when mild, sun-soaked days make outdoor sightseeing at the pyramids and Nile-side temples genuinely pleasant. It is wise to sidestep the height of summer, June to August, when the mercury in many regions climbs past 40°C (104°F) and midday touring becomes hard going.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Travellers heading to Egypt should typically arrange the following:

  • Passport: Must remain valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry.

  • Visa: Requirements vary by nationality; some visitors secure one in advance, others obtain it on arrival, and many nationalities qualify for an e-visa.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended to cover medical emergencies and any unexpected disruptions.

  • Vaccinations: None are formally required for entry, but a quick chat with your doctor about routine or recommended jabs is a sensible step before you fly.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is generally regarded as a safe destination for visitors, with a strong tourism-police presence at major sites and cities and clear protocols in place to look after travellers. Even so, it is sensible to review your government’s most recent travel advice and keep an eye on local news throughout your trip.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Pin down when you would like to travel and how much you are prepared to spend. Nailing these two down early makes it far easier to compare flights, hotels and tours.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
Egypt’s greatest hits include Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile Cruise, Alexandria, and the Red Sea resorts. Draw up a shortlist and decide how many nights each stop deserves.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
Book through a well-reviewed local Egyptian operator, an international agency, or a specialist online platform. Scan verified reviews and ratings before you commit.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Ready-made packages bundle flights, hotels, transfers and guided touring into one price, while a bespoke build lets you shape the days around your own interests and pace.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you have chosen your programme, get in touch to confirm availability, share your traveller details, and settle the required deposit or full payment as per the operator’s policy.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Check that your passport remains valid, apply for an Egyptian visa where required, and print or download your bookings, hotel vouchers and tour confirmations.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Pack for the season and the activities on your itinerary. Comfortable walking shoes, high-factor sunscreen and a universal travel adapter are non-negotiable.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
Once you land, follow the plan, stay in touch with your guide or agency, and let Egypt’s astonishing history and hospitality do the rest.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, known locally as “baksheesh”, is woven into daily life in Egypt and is not built into your tour cost. Guides, drivers, hotel staff and other service providers all appreciate a token of thanks, with 10-15% of the bill or service cost a fair general benchmark, adjusted up or down for the quality of service you receive.
