Tour Overview

Slip beneath the surface of the Red Sea without so much as dampening your sleeves on this semi submarine adventure from Sharm El Sheikh. Head down into the vessel’s lower cabin, where broad curved windows sit a metre below the waterline and frame the reef like a live-action documentary. Coral gardens shimmer past, parrotfish and shoals of glassfish drift by in ribbons of colour, and your on-board guide points out the creatures worth watching for. Air-conditioned, gentle and utterly effortless, it’s a brilliant fit for families with young children, nervous swimmers and anyone who would rather trade fins for a comfortable seat. Between viewings, climb topside for the salt-air breeze and postcard views of the coastline. Reserve your seat with Daily Pyramids Tours and see the Red Sea from a whole new angle.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping (“baksheesh”) is a customary way to show appreciation for good service in Egypt. Though not mandatory, it is widely appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tipping is generally not included in your package price. We recommend carrying small USD or EGP bills for tipping convenience.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting during the cooler winter stretch from November to February, when daytime temperatures are pleasant and sightseeing at pyramids, temples and open-air sites is genuinely comfortable. Try to avoid the deep summer months of June to August, when the mercury regularly pushes past 40°C (104°F) across much of the country and midday exploration becomes a real challenge.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Most visitors to Egypt will need to sort out the following before travelling:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need to arrange one in advance or pick it up on arrival, and several passports now qualify for a convenient e-visa.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended to cover medical care and any unexpected hiccups during your trip.

  • Vaccinations: None are compulsory for entry, but it is sensible to check with your doctor or a travel clinic for any jabs they suggest before you fly.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is broadly a safe and welcoming country for tourists, with a strong security presence around major sights and busy resort areas. That said, it is always wise to glance at your government’s latest travel guidance before departure and keep half an eye on local news once you arrive.

How do I book a trip?

  • Pin Down Your Dates and Budget
Start by fixing when you’d like to travel and roughly what you’re happy to spend. This immediately narrows the field for flights, hotels and tour options.

  • Sketch Out an Itinerary
Egypt spoils you for choice — Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, a Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts are all in the running. Decide which corners of the country matter most and how many nights each deserves.

  • Pick a Trusted Tour Operator
You might book through a local Egyptian specialist, an international agency, or an established online platform for Egypt holidays. Read recent reviews and testimonials before you commit.

  • Choose a Ready-Made Package or Tailor Your Own
Off-the-shelf packages usually bundle flights, hotels, transfers and guided sightseeing. If you’d rather steer things yourself, a good operator will happily craft a bespoke itinerary around your interests and budget.

  • Lock In the Booking
Once you’re happy with the plan, get in touch to confirm availability. You’ll typically share your personal details and pay either a deposit or the full balance, depending on the operator’s terms.

  • Sort Your Paperwork
Double-check your passport’s validity, apply for an Egyptian visa if it applies to you, and print or download copies of your itinerary, hotel vouchers and tour confirmations before you fly.

  • Pack Smart
Pack for the season and the activities on your list. Comfortable walking shoes, high-factor sunscreen and a universal travel adapter are non-negotiables.

  • Enjoy the Adventure
Once you land, follow your itinerary at your own pace, keep in touch with your guide or agency, and soak up all the history, food and colour Egypt has to offer.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping — known locally as “baksheesh” — is woven into everyday life in Egypt and generally sits outside your tour price. Small gratuities for guides, drivers, waiters and hotel staff are very much expected. A handy benchmark is roughly 10-15% of the bill or service, adjusted up or down for how attentive and helpful the service has been.
