Itinerary

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your accommodation, your day of discovery begins as you meet your private Egyptologist guide. Traveling in a comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle, you’ll head to one of Egypt’s newest and most impressive cultural landmarks—the Grand Egyptian Museum.

This museum is home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of ancient Egyptian treasures, all under one roof. As you explore its vast galleries, you’ll be immersed in Egypt’s rich 1,000-year history through permanent exhibits, special exhibitions, and engaging public programs that bring the past to life.

After a morning filled with awe-inspiring artifacts, you’ll pause for lunch at a local restaurant. Here, you’ll enjoy a selection of traditional Egyptian dishes, including flavorful meat options, rice, and fresh salads. (Please note that drinks are not included.)

In the afternoon, your journey continues at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), the first museum in the Arab world dedicated to the full scope of Egypt’s ancient heritage. NMEC offers a fascinating overview of Egypt’s diverse historical periods and serves as a dynamic center for culture, education, and entertainment for visitors, researchers, and scholars alike.

Following these enriching visits, your guide will escort you back to your accommodation, where you can unwind and reflect on the remarkable day of history and culture.

Travel Policy Guide of Daily Pyramids Tours

Pricing Policy

Every price quoted by Daily Pyramids Tours is set in US Dollars (USD) unless we say otherwise. We’re happy to receive payment in other leading currencies too, including Euros (EUR), British Pounds (GBP) and more, converted at the official exchange rate on the day you pay.

Our rates reflect the realities of the market, seasonal peaks, and how much of each service is available, so they can shift without warning. The moment your deposit or full payment reaches us, however, your price is locked and protected.

What’s Included in Our Packages:

  • Comfortable accommodation as listed in your itinerary
  • Private or group transportation
  • Professional, fully licensed Egyptologist guides
  • Daily breakfast plus any additional meals noted
  • Entrance tickets to all included sights
  • Domestic flights or overland transfers where relevant
  • 24/7 support on the ground

Always review your booking confirmation and itinerary for the precise inclusions and exclusions attached to your trip.

Holiday Supplement:

Because demand climbs so sharply over the festive season, a 25% surcharge is added to every Nile Cruise and tour package running during Christmas, New Year, and Easter.

Booking Confirmation Policy

Booking with Daily Pyramids Tours is straightforward, and the payment terms depend on what you’ve chosen:

  • Day Tours & Excursions: Full payment (100%) is due at the moment of booking to lock in your reservation.
  • Multi-Day Tour Packages & Nile Cruises: A 30% deposit secures your dates, with the balance settled at least 15 days before you arrive.
  • Christmas, New Year & Easter Bookings: Peak-season demand means we ask for a 50% deposit to hold your reservation.

As soon as your payment clears, we email over a written confirmation, your personalised itinerary and travel documents. Every payment is receipted for your records.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Plans shift, and we get that. Here is how our cancellation scale works:

  • 30 days or more before arrival: Full refund, less any bank or transaction fees
  • 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee of total tour cost
  • 7 to 14 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee
  • Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Where a refund is due, we process it within 14 business days of receiving your written cancellation. A handful of cruises and hotels apply stricter rules of their own, and any such conditions will be flagged clearly in your itinerary.

Children Policy

Families are always welcome on Daily Pyramids Tours, and our children’s pricing is straightforward:

  • Infants under 2 years: Free of charge
  • Children 2–5 years: 25% of adult price
  • Children 6–11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Children 12 years and above: Full adult price

These reductions apply when children share a room with two paying adults. A few Nile Cruises and luxury hotels operate their own policies for younger guests, and any variations will be explained clearly in your itinerary.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

A handful of stand-out experiences sit outside our standard packages. You can add them at the time of booking or arrange them on the day, subject to availability. Popular add-ons include:

  • Entering the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other tombs
  • Sound & Light Shows at Giza Pyramids, Karnak, or Philae Temples
  • Hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise
  • Camel rides or horse-drawn carriage tours through historic neighbourhoods
  • Private photography sessions at Egypt’s landmark sites

Optional experiences can be settled in USD or local currency (EGP). We strongly suggest reserving them ahead of time, particularly during peak season.

Additional Expenses to Budget For

Our packages cover the essentials, but a few personal items are worth budgeting for:

  • Personal purchases such as souvenirs and snacks
  • Drinks with meals unless specifically noted
  • Hotel extras such as minibar, room service or laundry
  • Egypt entry visa fees, usually paid on arrival
  • SIM cards or data plans unless provided
  • Gratuities and any optional experiences

It’s helpful to carry a little local currency (EGP) for smaller moments, especially tips and purchases in traditional markets.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping, known locally as “baksheesh”, is a warm cultural gesture in Egypt for good service. It isn’t compulsory, but it is genuinely valued:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tips are not included in the package price, so keeping a few small USD or EGP notes handy will make things much easier.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most enjoyable through the winter stretch from November to February, when the daytime warmth is gentle and outdoor sites such as the pyramids and Nile temples are a pleasure to wander. Try to sidestep the height of summer between June and August, when the mercury can climb well past 40°C (104°F) in much of the country.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

The paperwork required for entry into Egypt is usually straightforward:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need to obtain a visa in advance or upon arrival. Some nationalities are eligible for e-visas.

  • Travel Insurance: Recommended to cover medical emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Vaccinations: While no specific vaccinations are required for entry, it’s advisable to check with your healthcare provider for any recommended vaccinations.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is broadly regarded as a safe destination for visitors. Considerable effort goes into protecting travellers, particularly around the major sights and city centres. Even so, it’s sensible to review the latest guidance from your own government before you fly and to keep an eye on local news while you’re on the ground.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Determine when you want to travel and how much you are willing to spend. This helps narrow down your options for flights, accommodations, and tours.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
Egypt offers many popular spots such as Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile Cruise, Alexandria, and the Red Sea resorts. Decide which places you want to visit and for how long.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
You can book through a local Egyptian tour operator, an international travel agency, or online platforms that specialize in Egypt tours. Check reviews and ratings to ensure they are trustworthy.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Many companies offer pre-designed packages that include flights, hotels, transportation, and guided tours. If you prefer, you can also customize your trip based on your interests and budget.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you choose your package or itinerary, contact the tour operator to check availability. You will need to provide your personal details and pay a deposit or the full amount depending on the policy.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Ensure your passport is valid and apply for an Egyptian visa if required. Confirm all bookings and print out your travel itinerary, hotel vouchers, and tour confirmations.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Prepare according to the weather and activities planned. Don’t forget essentials like comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and travel adapters.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
On arrival, follow your itinerary, stay in contact with your guide or agency, and enjoy exploring Egypt’s rich history and culture.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, or “baksheesh”, is woven into everyday life in Egypt and generally sits outside the tour price. Guides, drivers and hotel staff all appreciate a small acknowledgement of good service. As a working guide, tipping around 10-15% of the bill or service cost tends to feel about right.
