Day 1: Arrival in Aswan – Aswan City Tour
A Daily Pyramids representative meets you at Aswan Airport or your hotel and stays with you throughout the day. Settled into a private air-conditioned vehicle, you set out for the High Dam, the twentieth-century feat of engineering that tamed the annual flood and rescued a great sweep of Nubian heritage from rising waters.
From there you cross to the granite fields that supplied ancient Egypt with its most prized stone. Here lies the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying flat where a hairline fracture halted its progress — a vast, unfinished chapter in the story of pharaonic quarrying.
