Tour Overview

When the sun slips behind the Western Desert and the Giza plateau falls quiet, the monuments awaken in a different guise. Take your seat beneath a star-scattered sky and let the Sphinx himself become your storyteller, his voice carrying the memory of dynasties across the sand. Beams of colour sweep the flanks of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, projected images ripple over ancient limestone, and a rich orchestral score binds it all together. Millennia of pharaonic history unfold in a single evening, in an atmosphere that is at once cinematic, family-friendly and genuinely moving. Book your seat at the Pyramids Sound and Light Show with Daily Pyramids Tours and see Giza as few travellers do.

Travel Policy Guide of Daily Pyramids Tours

Pricing Policy

Every price on Daily Pyramids Tours is published in US Dollars (USD) unless we note otherwise. We are also happy to receive payment in other major currencies, including Euros (EUR) and British Pounds (GBP), converted at the official exchange rate that applies on the day you pay.

Because rates respond to market shifts, seasonality and live availability, our published prices can move without warning. The moment your deposit or full payment reaches us, however, the figure quoted for your booking is locked in and protected.

What Your Package Includes:

  • Well-appointed accommodation as set out in your itinerary
  • Private or shared group transport
  • Licensed, professional Egyptologist guides
  • Daily breakfast and additional meals where listed
  • Entry tickets to the sites included in your programme
  • Internal flights or transfers where relevant
  • Round-the-clock ground support, 24/7

For the precise list of inclusions and exclusions, please refer to your booking confirmation and personalised itinerary.

Peak-Season Supplement:

A 25% surcharge is applied to all Nile Cruises and tour packages travelling during Christmas, New Year and Easter, reflecting the exceptional demand across those holiday windows.

Booking Confirmation Policy

Booking with Daily Pyramids Tours is straightforward, though the deposit we ask for depends on the kind of experience you are reserving:

  • Day Tours & Excursions: Full payment (100%) is due at the time of booking to lock in your place.
  • Multi-Day Tour Packages & Nile Cruises: A 30% deposit secures your reservation, with the remaining balance settled at least 15 days before you arrive.
  • Christmas, New Year & Easter Bookings: During these high-demand periods a 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking.

Once payment is received we email you a written confirmation, a bespoke itinerary and your travel documents. Formal receipts are issued for every transaction.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Plans occasionally shift, and we have kept our cancellation structure clear so you always know where you stand:

  • 30 days or more before arrival: Full refund, minus any bank or transaction charges
  • 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee of the total tour cost
  • 7 to 14 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee
  • Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Where a refund is due, we release it within 14 business days of receiving your written cancellation. Certain Nile cruises and premium hotels operate their own stricter cancellation terms; these will be spelled out clearly in your itinerary.

Children Policy

Daily Pyramids Tours is a family-friendly operator, and we apply the following pricing scale for children:

  • Infants under 2 years: Free of charge
  • Children 2–5 years: 25% of adult price
  • Children 6–11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Children 12 years and above: Full adult price

Child rates apply when the children share a room with two full-paying adults. A handful of Nile cruises and luxury properties enforce their own age policies, and any such conditions will be highlighted directly in your itinerary.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

A number of headline experiences sit outside the standard programme. You are welcome to add them ahead of travel or arrange them locally, subject to availability. Popular choices include:

  • Entry inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other tombs
  • Sound & Light Shows at Giza Pyramids, Karnak, or Philae Temples
  • Hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise
  • Camel rides or horse-drawn carriage tours in historic districts
  • Private photo sessions at iconic landmarks

Optional experiences can be settled in USD or in local currency (EGP). We do recommend booking ahead where possible, particularly in the busier months.

Additional Expenses to Budget For

Our packages are designed to be comprehensive, but a few personal costs sit outside the price:

  • Personal purchases (souvenirs, snacks, etc.)
  • Beverages during meals unless specified
  • Hotel extras (minibar, room service, laundry, etc.)
  • Egypt entry visa fees (usually payable on arrival)
  • SIM cards or internet access unless provided
  • Gratuities and optional experiences

Keeping a modest reserve of Egyptian pounds (EGP) on hand is sensible, especially for tipping and small purchases in the local souks.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping — known locally as baksheesh — is a warmly embedded custom in Egypt and a lovely way to thank those who look after you. It is never obligatory, but it is genuinely appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Gratuities are not included in the price of your package, so it helps to travel with a small stash of USD or EGP notes ready for the purpose.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

For the most comfortable travelling conditions, aim for the Egyptian winter, roughly November through February, when the days are mild, the light is golden and outdoor exploration around the Pyramids and Nile temples is a pleasure. Try to avoid the height of summer between June and August, when temperatures across much of the country regularly climb above 40°C (104°F).

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Most travellers heading to Egypt will need to arrive with the following in order:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need to secure a visa in advance or on arrival; some passports are also eligible for an e-visa.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended to cover medical care and any other unforeseen events.

  • Vaccinations: No specific vaccinations are required for entry, but it is sensible to speak with your healthcare provider about recommended jabs.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is, on the whole, a safe and welcoming destination for tourists. Significant investment has gone into visitor security, particularly around major heritage sites and city centres. Even so, it is always wise to review the latest advisories from your own government before you fly and to keep an eye on local updates throughout your stay.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Fix the window you would like to travel in and set a realistic budget. That single step makes it far easier to shortlist flights, hotels and tour options.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
Egypt is packed with headline experiences — Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea coast among them. Map out which of these you want in your trip and how many nights each deserves.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
You can book directly with a locally based Egyptian operator, an international agency, or a specialist online platform. Whichever route you choose, check independent reviews and ratings first.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Many operators offer ready-made packages combining flights, hotels, transfers and guided touring. If you would rather tailor everything to your own taste and budget, a bespoke itinerary is usually possible too.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you have picked your package or route, contact the operator to confirm availability. You will typically share personal details and pay either a deposit or the full amount, depending on their policy.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Check that your passport is valid, apply for an Egyptian visa if you need one, and print copies of your itinerary, hotel vouchers and tour confirmations to carry with you.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Pack for the weather and the activities on your plan. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a universal travel adapter are all worth their space in the case.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
On arrival, follow your itinerary, stay in touch with your guide or agency, and give yourself over to Egypt’s extraordinary history and culture.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, or baksheesh, is a deeply rooted Egyptian custom and is not built into the price of your tour. It is normal to offer something to guides, drivers and hotel staff in recognition of good service; a helpful benchmark is around 10-15% of the bill or the value of the service you have received.
