Itinerary

After a delicious breakfast at your accommodation, your unforgettable day begins with a warm welcome from your private Egyptologist guide. Together, you’ll set off in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle toward one of the world’s most iconic destinations: the Giza Plateau.

As you arrive, the legendary pyramids rise before you, timeless and awe-inspiring. Standing in their shadow, you’ll explore the monumental structures of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, each with its own story carved in stone. Nearby, the smaller satellite pyramids reveal the lesser-known tales of royal queens, adding depth to the ancient landscape.

Your journey continues to the mysterious Great Sphinx, which has silently guarded the plateau for thousands of years. With the body of a lion and the face of a man, it evokes countless questions and legends. Standing before it, you’ll sense the grandeur and enigma that have fascinated travelers for centuries.

Next, you’ll visit the Valley Temple of Khafre, where rituals of purification and preparation once took place. As you walk through this ancient limestone complex, imagine the sacred rites that accompanied the burial of kings, echoing across millennia.

After a morning filled with wonder and discovery, your guide will escort you back to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to relax and reflect on the incredible history you’ve just experienced.

  • Private or group transportation
  • Professional, licensed tour guides
  • Daily breakfast and other meals as specified
  • Entrance fees to included attractions
  • Domestic flights or transfers (where applicable)

Always consult your booking confirmation and itinerary for the exact list of inclusions and exclusions attached to your trip.

Holiday Supplement:

A 25% surcharge applies to all Nile Cruises and tour packages booked during Christmas, New Year, and Easter holidays due to peak demand.

Booking Confirmation Policy

To make booking with Daily Pyramids Tours as straightforward as possible, our payment terms depend on the type of service you have chosen:

  • Day Tours & Excursions: Full payment (100%) is required at booking to confirm your reservation.
  • Multi-Day Tour Packages & Nile Cruises: A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance must be paid at least 15 days before arrival.
  • Christmas, New Year & Easter Bookings: Due to high seasonal demand, a 50% deposit is needed to confirm reservations during these periods.

Once your payment is processed, we will email you a written confirmation, your personalised itinerary and any travel documents you need, together with receipts for every amount paid.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We know travel plans sometimes shift. If you need to cancel, the following terms apply:

  • 30 days or more before arrival: Full refund minus any bank or transaction fees
  • 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee of total tour cost
  • 7 to 14 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee
  • Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Where a refund is due, we process it within 14 business days of receiving your written cancellation. A handful of Nile cruises and hotels operate on stricter cancellation rules of their own, and any such conditions will be flagged clearly in your itinerary before you book.

Children Policy

Daily Pyramids Tours warmly welcomes families, and our children’s pricing works as follows:

  • Infants under 2 years: Free of charge
  • Children 2–5 years: 25% of adult price
  • Children 6–11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Children 12 years and above: Full adult price

These discounts apply when children share a room with two full-paying adults. Please be aware that some Nile Cruises and luxury hotels operate their own rules for young travellers, and any variations will be spelled out in your itinerary where they apply.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

Some of Egypt’s most memorable experiences sit outside the standard package and can be added either in advance or on the ground, subject to availability. Popular choices include:

  • Entry inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other tombs
  • Sound & Light Shows at Giza Pyramids, Karnak, or Philae Temples
  • Hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise
  • Camel rides or horse-drawn carriage tours in historic districts
  • Private photo sessions at iconic landmarks

These optional extras can be paid in USD or local currency (EGP), and we strongly suggest reserving them ahead of time during high season when demand is at its peak.

Additional Expenses to Budget For

Our packages cover the essentials, but travellers should set aside a little extra spending money for:

  • Personal purchases (souvenirs, snacks, etc.)
  • Beverages during meals unless specified
  • Hotel extras (minibar, room service, laundry, etc.)
  • Egypt entry visa fees (usually payable on arrival)
  • SIM cards or internet access unless provided
  • Gratuities and optional experiences

Carrying a small amount of Egyptian Pounds (EGP) in cash makes daily life easier, especially when tipping and browsing local bazaars and markets.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

In Egypt, tipping, known as “baksheesh”, is a long-standing way of thanking those who look after you along the way. It is not compulsory but always appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tips are not included in your package price, so we recommend keeping a few small notes in USD or EGP handy so you can thank people easily as you go.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting during the cooler winter stretch from November to February, when daytime temperatures are pleasantly mild and made for long days at the pyramids, temples and open-air museums. Try to avoid the peak of summer between June and August, when the mercury regularly climbs above 40°C (104°F) across much of the country and midday sightseeing becomes genuinely testing.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Most travellers heading to Egypt will need the following in order:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need to obtain a visa in advance or upon arrival. Some nationalities are eligible for e-visas.

  • Travel Insurance: Recommended to cover medical emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Vaccinations: While no specific vaccinations are required for entry, it’s advisable to check with your healthcare provider for any recommended vaccinations.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is broadly considered a safe destination for visitors, with heightened tourist-police presence and security measures across the main sites and cities. As with any international trip, it is sensible to review the latest advisory from your own government before you fly and keep an eye on local news while you are on the ground.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Determine when you want to travel and how much you are willing to spend. This helps narrow down your options for flights, accommodations, and tours.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
Egypt offers many popular spots such as Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile Cruise, Alexandria, and the Red Sea resorts. Decide which places you want to visit and for how long.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
You can book through a local Egyptian tour operator, an international travel agency, or online platforms that specialize in Egypt tours. Check reviews and ratings to ensure they are trustworthy.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Many companies offer pre-designed packages that include flights, hotels, transportation, and guided tours. If you prefer, you can also customize your trip based on your interests and budget.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you choose your package or itinerary, contact the tour operator to check availability. You will need to provide your personal details and pay a deposit or the full amount depending on the policy.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Ensure your passport is valid and apply for an Egyptian visa if required. Confirm all bookings and print out your travel itinerary, hotel vouchers, and tour confirmations.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Prepare according to the weather and activities planned. Don’t forget essentials like comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and travel adapters.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
On arrival, follow your itinerary, stay in contact with your guide or agency, and enjoy exploring Egypt’s rich history and culture.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, known locally as “baksheesh”, is woven into everyday Egyptian life and generally sits outside the tour price. Guides, drivers and hotel staff all appreciate a small gesture of thanks, and a reasonable benchmark is around 10-15% of the bill or the value of the service you have received.
