Tour Overview

Slip away from Hurghada’s busy shoreline and set a course for one of the Red Sea’s loveliest hideaways on this Paradise Island Snorkeling Trip from Hurghada. As the coastline melts behind the boat, the water shifts from deep sapphire to a luminous turquoise, hinting at the reefs waiting below. Paradise Island itself lives up to its name: a fringe of powder-soft sand curling around calm, glass-clear shallows, ringed by living coral gardens that teem with life. You’ll spend the day drifting above kaleidoscopic reef walls where clownfish, parrotfish, angelfish and butterflyfish flit through the coral, and lucky snorkellers often glimpse sea turtles gliding by or shoals of exotic species catching the light. Because the marine area is protected, visibility is superb and conditions stay gentle, making the reef welcoming for beginners and rewarding for seasoned swimmers alike. Between dips there’s time to stretch out on the powdery beach, feel the sun on your shoulders, and tuck into a hearty lunch before another swim. It’s a day of pure, unhurried escape where the pace slows to the rhythm of the waves.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping (“baksheesh”) is a customary way to show appreciation for good service in Egypt. Though not mandatory, it is widely appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tipping is generally not included in your package price. We recommend carrying small USD or EGP bills for tipping convenience.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting during the cooler winter stretch, roughly November through February, when daytime temperatures are pleasant for wandering the pyramids, temples and coastal resorts. It is best to steer clear of the height of summer, from June to August, when the mercury regularly climbs above 40°C (104°F) across much of the country and outdoor sightseeing becomes taxing.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Before flying into Egypt, most visitors will need to have the following ready:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need to obtain a visa in advance or upon arrival. Some nationalities are eligible for e-visas.

  • Travel Insurance: Recommended to cover medical emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Vaccinations: While no specific vaccinations are required for entry, it’s advisable to check with your healthcare provider for any recommended vaccinations.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is broadly regarded as a safe destination for international travellers, with dedicated tourist police, clear security measures at major sites, and a strong focus on visitor protection in the main cities and resorts. As with any trip abroad, it makes sense to review your government’s latest travel guidance before departure and keep an eye on local news while you’re in the country.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Start by pinning down when you’d like to travel and roughly how much you want to spend. Having a clear window and budget makes it far easier to shortlist flights, hotels and tours.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
From Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza to Luxor, Aswan, a Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts, Egypt offers a huge sweep of experiences. Map out which regions call to you and how many nights you’d like in each.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
Book through a trusted local Egyptian operator, an international travel agency or a reputable online platform focused on Egypt. Read recent reviews and ratings so you can travel with confidence.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Ready-made packages usually cover flights, hotels, transfers and guided sightseeing, while tailor-made trips are shaped around your interests, pace and budget. Choose whichever style suits you best.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you’ve settled on an itinerary, get in touch with your operator to confirm availability. You’ll share your traveller details and pay either a deposit or the full amount, depending on the booking terms.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Make sure your passport is valid, sort out any Egyptian visa you require, and keep copies of confirmations, hotel vouchers and your itinerary handy for the journey.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Pack for the season and the activities on your programme. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a travel adapter for your devices are near-essentials.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
When you land, follow the plan, stay in touch with your guide or agency, and lose yourself in Egypt’s remarkable history, landscapes and hospitality.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, known locally as “baksheesh,” is very much woven into daily life in Egypt and is generally not built into published tour prices. Guides, drivers, boat crew and hotel staff all appreciate a small thank-you for good service, and a helpful benchmark is around 10-15% of the bill or the value of the service you’ve received.
