Travel Policy Guide of Daily Pyramids Tours

Pricing Policy

All Daily Pyramids Tours prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless we note otherwise. We are also happy to accept other major currencies such as Euros (EUR), British Pounds (GBP) and more, converted at the official exchange rate on the day you pay.

Because our rates track live market conditions, seasonal demand and supplier availability, they may shift without notice. The good news: the moment your deposit or full payment lands, the price on your booking is locked in and guaranteed.

What’s Included in Our Packages:

  • Comfortable accommodation as detailed in your itinerary
  • Private or group transportation
  • Professional, licensed tour guides
  • Daily breakfast and other meals as specified
  • Entrance fees to included attractions
  • Domestic flights or transfers (where applicable)
  • 24/7 on-ground support

Your booking confirmation and personal itinerary spell out the exact inclusions and exclusions for your trip.

Holiday Supplement:

A 25% surcharge is added to all Nile Cruises and tour packages that fall over Christmas, New Year and Easter, reflecting the peak-season demand.

Booking Confirmation Policy

To keep booking with Daily Pyramids Tours simple, payment terms are set by the type of service you choose:

  • Day Tours & Excursions: Full payment (100%) is required at booking to confirm your reservation.
  • Multi-Day Tour Packages & Nile Cruises: A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance must be paid at least 15 days before arrival.
  • Christmas, New Year & Easter Bookings: Due to high seasonal demand, a 50% deposit is needed to confirm reservations during these periods.

Once payment clears, we send written confirmation, your tailored itinerary and all travel documents by email, along with receipts for every transaction.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Plans change, and we get it. Our cancellation terms are as follows:

  • 30 days or more before arrival: Full refund minus any bank or transaction fees
  • 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee of total tour cost
  • 7 to 14 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee
  • Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Where a refund is due, it is processed within 14 business days of your written cancellation notice. A few Nile cruises and hotels operate stricter cancellation rules of their own; where they apply, your itinerary will spell them out clearly.

Children Policy

Families are always welcome at Daily Pyramids Tours, and children travel on the following scale:

  • Infants under 2 years: Free of charge
  • Children 2–5 years: 25% of adult price
  • Children 6–11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Children 12 years and above: Full adult price

These discounts apply when children share a room with two full-paying adults. A handful of Nile cruises and luxury hotels apply their own rules or age restrictions for younger children; where that is the case, we flag it directly in your itinerary.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

A few special experiences sit outside the standard package and can be added in advance or arranged on the spot, subject to availability. Popular choices include:

  • Entry inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other tombs
  • Sound & Light Shows at Giza Pyramids, Karnak, or Philae Temples
  • Hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise
  • Camel rides or horse-drawn carriage tours in historic districts
  • Private photo sessions at iconic landmarks

These optional extras can be paid in USD or local currency (EGP). Booking ahead is strongly recommended, particularly through the busy season.

Additional Expenses to Budget For

Our packages are comprehensive, but it is wise to budget a little extra for:

  • Personal purchases (souvenirs, snacks, etc.)
  • Beverages during meals unless specified
  • Hotel extras (minibar, room service, laundry, etc.)
  • Egypt entry visa fees (usually payable on arrival)
  • SIM cards or internet access unless provided
  • Gratuities and optional experiences

Keeping a small amount of local currency (EGP) on hand is genuinely useful, especially for tipping and picking things up in local markets.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping — known locally as “baksheesh” — is the customary way to acknowledge good service in Egypt. It is never compulsory, but it is warmly appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Gratuities are not included in the tour price, so it pays to keep small USD or EGP notes handy for the occasion.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting through the cooler winter months, roughly November to February, when the light is golden and temperatures are perfect for lingering at the pyramids, temples and open-air sites. High summer — June to August — is best avoided if you can help it, with the mercury regularly pushing past 40°C (104°F) across much of the country.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

To enter Egypt, most travellers will need the following in order:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, this may need to be arranged in advance or issued on arrival; many passport holders also qualify for an e-visa.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended, covering medical emergencies and any unforeseen disruption.

  • Vaccinations: None are formally required for entry, but a quick check-in with your doctor for any suggested jabs is always a smart move.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is, on the whole, a safe and welcoming destination for visitors. The tourism sector is closely supported, with dedicated protection around the main archaeological sites and major cities. As with any international trip, it pays to skim your government’s current travel advisory before departure and keep a light eye on local news while you are on the ground.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Pin down when you would like to travel and roughly what you are ready to spend. That alone will start to shape your choice of flights, hotels and tours.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
Egypt is packed with headline places — Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts. Draw up a shortlist of what you want to see and how many nights you can give each stop.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
You might book through a local Egyptian operator, an international agency or an online platform that specialises in Egypt. Reviews and independent ratings are your best friend here — read them carefully before you commit.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Ready-made packages usually bundle flights, hotels, transport and guided sightseeing into one price. If you prefer, most operators will happily tailor an itinerary around your particular interests and budget.

  • Make a Reservation
Once your itinerary is settled, get in touch with the operator to confirm availability, share your traveller details and pay either the deposit or the full amount according to their policy.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Double-check that your passport is in date, sort out an Egyptian visa if you need one, and keep printed copies of your itinerary, hotel vouchers and tour confirmations to hand.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Pack for the season and the sights on your list. Comfortable walking shoes, high-factor sunscreen and a travel adapter really do belong at the top of the pile.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
On arrival, follow the itinerary at your own pace, stay in easy contact with your guide, and let Egypt’s history and culture do the rest.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping — the local “baksheesh” — is woven into daily life in Egypt and is not built into the tour price. It is customary to look after guides, drivers and hotel staff with a small gratuity, matched to the standard of service you received. As a rough guide, around 10-15% of the bill or service cost is a fair benchmark.
