Itinerary

Embark on an enriching journey through Luxor’s East Bank, where the city’s rich ancient history unfolds before you. Your tour begins with a visit to the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest and most impressive religious sites in Egypt. As you wander through its towering columns, expansive halls, and sacred lake, you’ll be transported back to a time of ancient rituals and grand devotion.

Next, make your way to the Luxor Temple, a majestic structure dedicated to the god Amun. This temple’s beauty is especially striking at night when it is beautifully illuminated, providing an unforgettable atmosphere that highlights its architectural grandeur.

Your exploration continues at the Luxor Museum, a treasure trove of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to admire sculptures, mummies, and other historical pieces that offer a deeper understanding of the region’s fascinating past.

To wrap up your tour, take a leisurely walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes, the ancient pathway that once connected the Karnak Temple to Luxor Temple. As you stroll along this historic avenue, you’ll feel the weight of history surrounding you, with statues standing as silent witnesses to the grandeur of the past.

Booking Confirmation Policy

Booking with Daily Pyramids Tours is straightforward, and the payment schedule simply depends on the type of experience you choose:

  • Day Tours & Excursions: Full payment (100%) is required at booking to confirm your reservation.
  • Multi-Day Tour Packages & Nile Cruises: A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance must be paid at least 15 days before arrival.

  • 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee of total tour cost

Where a refund is due, it will be released within 14 business days of receiving your written cancellation. Please note that certain cruise vessels and hotels enforce stricter terms of their own, and any such conditions will be flagged clearly in your itinerary.

Children Policy

Daily Pyramids Tours is a family-friendly operator, and the following child rates apply:

  • Infants under 2 years: Free of charge
  • Children 2–5 years: 25% of adult price
  • Children 6–11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Children 12 years and above: Full adult price

These reductions apply when children share a room with two full-paying adults. Some luxury properties and Nile cruise vessels impose different rules or minimum ages for younger guests, and any such restrictions will be spelled out in your itinerary.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

A handful of memorable extras sit outside the standard package and can be arranged either in advance or on the ground, subject to availability. Popular options include:

  • Entry inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other tombs
  • Sound & Light Shows at Giza Pyramids, Karnak, or Philae Temples
  • Hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise
  • Camel rides or horse-drawn carriage tours in historic districts
  • Private photo sessions at iconic landmarks

These optional experiences can be settled in USD or Egyptian Pounds (EGP), and we strongly recommend reserving them ahead of time during busy travel seasons.

Additional Expenses to Budget For

Our packages are designed to be inclusive, though travellers should still set aside a personal budget for:

  • Personal purchases (souvenirs, snacks, etc.)
  • Beverages during meals unless specified
  • Hotel extras (minibar, room service, laundry, etc.)
  • Egypt entry visa fees (usually payable on arrival)
  • SIM cards or internet access unless provided
  • Gratuities and optional experiences

Keeping a modest amount of Egyptian Pounds (EGP) on hand is useful for small purchases, tipping and browsing the bazaars.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Known locally as “baksheesh”, tipping is woven into the fabric of Egyptian hospitality. It is never obligatory, but it is warmly received:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Gratuities are not included in the package price, so it helps to keep a stash of small USD or EGP notes to hand out easily throughout your trip.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most inviting during the cooler winter stretch from November to February, when clear skies and pleasant temperatures make walking around the pyramids, temples and open-air sites genuinely enjoyable. Try to sidestep the height of summer between June and August, when the mercury regularly climbs beyond 40°C (104°F) across much of the country.

What is needed to enter Egypt?

In general, visitors to Egypt should have the following in order before travelling:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

  • Visa: Depending on your nationality, a visa may be arranged in advance, granted on arrival, or issued electronically as an e-visa.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended to cover medical care, cancellations and any unexpected disruptions.

  • Vaccinations: No specific jabs are mandatory to enter the country, though a quick chat with your GP or travel clinic is always sensible.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is broadly regarded as a safe destination for international visitors, with a strong tourism-police presence around the country’s headline sites and major cities. As with any journey abroad, it is prudent to review the latest advisories issued by your foreign ministry and keep an ear on local news throughout your stay.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Fix your travel window and set a realistic overall budget first, as this shapes every downstream choice from flights and hotels to which tours you can comfortably fit in.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
From Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza to Luxor, Aswan, a Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea coast, Egypt offers a wealth of options. Map out the highlights that matter most to you and roughly how many nights each deserves.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
Whether you book with a local Egyptian specialist, an international agency or a reputable online platform, take the time to read genuine reviews and confirm the company’s credentials before committing.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Ready-made packages usually bundle flights, hotels, transfers and guided visits, but most reputable operators will happily tailor a private itinerary around your interests, pace and budget.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you have settled on an itinerary, get in touch with the operator to confirm availability, share your passenger details and pay either a deposit or the full amount, depending on their policy.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Double-check your passport validity, secure your Egyptian visa where necessary and keep printed or digital copies of every booking confirmation, hotel voucher and tour reference to hand.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Pack sensibly for the season and the activities on your programme, with sturdy walking shoes, sun protection and a universal travel adapter high on the list.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
Once you land, follow the itinerary, stay in touch with your guide or agency, and simply give yourself over to Egypt’s extraordinary history, culture and hospitality.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, or “baksheesh”, is deeply rooted in Egyptian culture and rarely built into the headline tour price. Guides, drivers, hotel staff and other service providers all appreciate a small acknowledgement of good work, with a general benchmark of around 10-15% of the bill or service value serving as a helpful guide.
