After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist in the lobby for a day devoted to Giza’s most famous ancient monuments.
You begin high on the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu rises alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Nearby, the Great Sphinx, half lion and half pharaoh, keeps its ancient watch over the necropolis. A short walk brings you to the Valley Temple, once central to the sacred rites of mummification, and the views across the sand are unforgettable.

In the afternoon you move on to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), one of the largest and most modern museums ever built for a single civilisation. Its galleries hold thousands of statues, artefacts and royal treasures spanning dynasty after dynasty.

An early breakfast, then a scenic drive north to Alexandria, Egypt’s great Mediterranean port, where Egyptian, Greek and Roman worlds have long overlapped.
Your first stop is the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a 2nd-century AD burial complex where spiralling staircases lead down to chambers whose reliefs blend Egyptian gods with Roman togas.
Next comes Pompey’s Pillar, the enormous Roman column raised in honour of Emperor Diocletian, and the neighbouring ruins of the Serapeum, once a temple dedicated to the god Serapis.
Lunch follows at a respected local restaurant.
Afterwards, head to the Qaitbay Citadel, a 15th-century fortress built on the very spot where the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, once stood. Its ramparts open onto sweeping views of the Mediterranean.

Today is yours to slow down and enjoy Alexandria at your own tempo, the so-called Pearl of the Mediterranean. Start with a lazy walk along the Corniche, where the sea air and sweeping coastal views set the mood.
Wander the small streets lined with cafés, second-hand bookshops and lively markets. Detour into the Roman Amphitheatre ruins for a glimpse of the city’s classical past.
Fancy something further afield? Consider an optional excursion to Al Alamein, home to WWII battlefields, military museums and moving memorials to the soldiers who fought there.
In the evening, dine on fresh seafood by the water or simply stroll along the beachfront promenade as the sun goes down.

After breakfast, a private air-conditioned vehicle takes you to Cairo Airport for your short flight south to Aswan.
Our representative will greet you on arrival and set the day in motion straight away.
First up is the Aswan High Dam, a feat of modern engineering that tames the flow of the Nile and irrigates much of the country.
Then it is on to the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Rescued from the rising waters behind the dam and rebuilt stone by stone on Agilkia Island, its reliefs still tell the old stories of Egyptian mythology.
Sightseeing done, you board your Nile cruise ship, settle into your cabin and sit down to lunch as the boat slips towards Kom Ombo.
Enjoy the shifting riverbank scenery before an evening of onboard entertainment.
