Tour Overview

Four days is just long enough to fall under Cairo’s spell, and this package spends every one of them wisely. You’ll come nose-to-limestone with the Great Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx, then step from the desert glare into the hushed galleries of the Egyptian Museum, where golden funerary masks and pharaonic relics glitter behind glass. Between the big-ticket wonders, there’s room to wander the lantern-lit lanes of medieval Islamic Cairo, barter for spices, silver and painted glass in the great bazaar of Khan el-Khalili, and settle into a cafe chair with a glass of mint tea while the old quarter buzzes around you. Private transfers, a comfortable hotel, and a local guide who genuinely loves this city mean you can simply relax into the rhythm of the trip. Ready to see Cairo from the inside? Book your escape with Daily Pyramids Tours.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Ahlan wa sahlan, welcome to the land of the Pharaohs. The moment you clear passport control at Cairo International Airport, our representative will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a personalised name sign, ready to spot you in the crowd.

From there, a private air-conditioned vehicle will whisk you through the city to your hotel, so all you need to do is settle back, watch Cairo unfold beyond the window, and let the journey begin.

Meals: None

Overnight: Cairo

Day 2: Giza Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum Exploration

After a leisurely breakfast, meet your Egyptologist guide in the lobby for a day devoted to Egypt’s most iconic address.

First up is the Giza Plateau, where three pyramids rise straight out of the desert. Stand in the long shadow of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, then step across to its slightly smaller siblings, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. A short walk away, the Great Sphinx keeps its ageless watch, a lion’s body and a pharaoh’s face carved from a single limestone outcrop. You’ll also visit the Valley Temple, where royal mummies were once prepared for eternity, and pause to soak up the sweep of golden dunes that frames the whole complex.

A relaxed lunch at a well-loved local restaurant follows.

In the afternoon, it’s on to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a soaring modern landmark that gathers some of the most important antiquities ever unearthed under one vast roof. Wind through galleries filled with royal treasures, monumental statues, gilded artefacts, and everyday objects that trace the arc of Egyptian civilisation across its three great eras. The building itself, all light and clean lines, makes the walk through the millennia feel effortless.

When the museum has been done justice, you’ll be driven back to the hotel to put your feet up.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Overnight: Cairo

Day 3: Cairo – Saqqara, Memphis & Dahshur Excursion

After breakfast, your guide will collect you for a day that peels back the earliest chapters of pyramid building, well before Giza was ever imagined.

The first stop is Saqqara, the vast necropolis of ancient Memphis. Here, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser rises in six tiered layers, the world’s first monumental stone building and the ingenious brainchild of the architect Imhotep. It is, in every sense, where pyramid history begins.

Next comes Memphis, the very first capital of a unified Egypt under King Narmer. Little of the ancient city stands above ground today, but its open-air museum still holds treasures, including the enormous fallen statue of Ramses II lying serenely on its back, and a beautifully carved alabaster sphinx.

Finish the day at Dahshur, a quieter site that predates Giza and rewards the effort of getting there. Study the odd, kinked profile of the Bent Pyramid, then step across to the Red Pyramid, Egypt’s earliest true smooth-sided pyramid and a triumph of trial and error.

With the desert light softening, you’ll settle in for the drive back to Cairo.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Departure from Cairo

Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before your private transfer to Cairo International Airport, timed comfortably ahead of your flight.

Thank you for spending these days with us. We hope the pyramids, the museums, and the small moments in between have left their mark, and we would be delighted to plan your next Egyptian adventure whenever the time feels right.

Travel Policy Guide of Daily Pyramids Tours

Pricing Policy

All Daily Pyramids Tours prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) by default, though we are happy to receive payment in other major currencies, including Euros (EUR) and British Pounds (GBP), converted at the official exchange rate on the day the payment is made.

Because our rates track live market conditions, seasonal demand, and the availability of individual services, they may be revised without notice. The moment your deposit or full balance lands with us, however, your price is locked in and protected from any later changes.

What’s Included in Our Packages:

  • Comfortable accommodation as detailed in your itinerary
  • Private or group transportation
  • Professional, licensed tour guides
  • Daily breakfast and any other meals shown on the itinerary
  • Entrance fees to all included sites
  • Domestic flights or transfers, where relevant
  • 24/7 on-ground support throughout your stay

Your final booking confirmation and itinerary will always spell out precisely what is, and is not, included.

Holiday Supplement:

A 25% surcharge applies to all Nile Cruises and tour packages booked during Christmas, New Year, and Easter holidays due to peak demand.

Booking Confirmation Policy

To keep the booking process straightforward, our payment terms depend on the kind of trip you are booking:

  • Day Tours & Excursions: Full payment (100%) is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
  • Multi-Day Tour Packages & Nile Cruises: A 30% deposit confirms your reservation, with the remaining balance due no later than 15 days before arrival.
  • Christmas, New Year & Easter Bookings: Given the seasonal rush, a 50% deposit is required to hold reservations for these dates.

Once payment is received, we will email your written confirmation, your personalised itinerary, and all necessary travel documents, along with receipts for every payment made.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We know that plans sometimes have to shift. Our cancellation terms are as follows:

  • 30 days or more before arrival: Full refund minus any bank or transaction fees
  • 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee of total tour cost
  • 7 to 14 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee
  • Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Any eligible refunds will be issued within 14 business days of receiving your written cancellation notice. Please note that certain Nile cruises and hotels operate their own stricter cancellation rules, and where these apply they will be flagged clearly in your itinerary.

Children Policy

Families are always welcome at Daily Pyramids Tours, and our children’s rates are designed to keep travelling together affordable:

  • Infants under 2 years: Free of charge
  • Children 2–5 years: 25% of adult price
  • Children 6–11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Children 12 years and above: Full adult price

These discounts apply when children share a room with two full-paying adults. A handful of Nile cruises and luxury hotels operate their own policies for younger guests, and any such conditions will be clearly noted in your itinerary.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

A few experiences sit outside the standard package and can be added either in advance or, subject to availability, once you are on the ground. Popular options include:

  • Entry inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and other tombs
  • Sound & Light Shows at Giza Pyramids, Karnak, or Philae Temples
  • Hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise
  • Camel rides or horse-drawn carriage tours through historic districts
  • Private photo sessions at iconic landmarks

Optional experiences can be settled in USD or Egyptian Pounds (EGP), and we strongly suggest booking ahead during the busy season to avoid disappointment.

Additional Expenses to Budget For

Our packages cover the essentials, but it is worth setting a little money aside for:

  • Personal purchases such as souvenirs and snacks
  • Drinks with meals, unless specifically included
  • Hotel extras like minibar, room service and laundry
  • Egyptian entry visa fees, typically paid on arrival
  • SIM cards or mobile data, unless already provided
  • Gratuities and any optional experiences you add along the way

Carrying a small amount of Egyptian Pounds (EGP) makes life easier for tipping and for browsing local markets, where cash is still king.

Tipping Guidelines in Egypt

Tipping, known locally as “baksheesh”, is woven into everyday life in Egypt and is a warm way to thank the people who look after you. It is not compulsory, but it is always appreciated:

  • Tour guide: $15–$20 per day per group
  • Driver: $5–$10 per day per group
  • Nile Cruise crew: $5–$10 per person per night (shared among staff)
  • Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping): Small tips of $1–$2

Tips are not included in the package price, so a stash of small USD or EGP notes makes handing them out simple and stress-free.

FAQ

What is the Best Time to Travel to Egypt?

Egypt is at its most enjoyable in the cooler months, roughly November through February, when the days are warm but comfortable and open-air sites like the pyramids and Luxor’s temples can be explored without wilting. The heart of summer, from June to August, is best avoided if you can help it, as inland temperatures frequently climb above 40°C (104°F).

What is needed to enter Egypt?

Most travellers coming to Egypt will need the following in order:

  • Passport: Must remain valid for at least six months from your date of entry.

  • Visa: Requirements vary by nationality. Some travellers need to arrange a visa before departure, others can obtain one on arrival, and many are eligible for an e-visa online.

  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended to cover medical care and any unexpected disruptions.

  • Vaccinations: No specific jabs are required for entry, but a quick chat with your doctor about routine and recommended vaccinations is always a good idea.

Is it Safe to Travel to Egypt Right Now?

Egypt is generally a safe destination for visitors, with substantial security measures in place around major tourist sites and cities. As with any international trip, it is sensible to check your government’s latest travel advice and keep an eye on local news in the days leading up to and during your stay.

How do I book a trip?

  • Decide Your Travel Dates and Budget
Pin down when you would like to go and how much you are comfortable spending. This will shape everything from flight choices to hotels and tours.

  • Choose Your Itinerary and Destinations
Egypt is spoilt for choice: Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile Cruise, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts all deserve time. Decide which ones matter most to you and roughly how many nights you can give each.

  • Find a Reliable Tour Operator or Travel Agency
You can book through a local Egyptian operator, an international agency, or a specialist online platform. Reviews and independent ratings are your best friends here.

  • Select a Tour Package or Customize Your Trip
Ready-made packages bundle flights, hotels, transfers and guided tours into one neat plan. If you would rather build something bespoke around your own interests and budget, most operators are happy to tailor an itinerary.

  • Make a Reservation
Once you have settled on a shape for the trip, contact the operator to confirm availability, share your traveller details, and pay either a deposit or the full amount as their terms require.

  • Prepare Your Travel Documents
Check that your passport has plenty of validity left, sort out any visa required for your nationality, and print or download all your confirmations, vouchers and itinerary details.

  • Pack and Get Ready
Pack for the season and the activities on your plan: comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, modest layers for temples, and a travel adapter will earn their keep.

  • Enjoy Your Trip!
When you land, follow the itinerary, stay in touch with your guide or agency, and give yourself over to Egypt’s history, food, and endlessly friendly people.

Is Tipping Included in the Tour Price?

Tipping, or “baksheesh”, is very much a part of daily life in Egypt and is almost never included in your tour price. Guides, drivers and hotel staff all rely on it as a meaningful part of their earnings, so it is worth budgeting for. A helpful rule of thumb is to tip in line with the quality of service you receive, generally in the region of 10-15% of the bill or service cost.
