Day 1: Arrival in Aswan – Aswan City Tour
Landing at Aswan Airport (or collected from your hotel), you are greeted by our representative who stays with you throughout your day of discovery. A private air-conditioned car whisks you first to the High Dam, the great feat of twentieth-century engineering that tamed the Nile’s annual flood and preserved a wealth of Nubian heritage in the process.
Next stop is the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying half-carved in its granite bed after a fissure forced the ancient masons to abandon it — a rare, tangible glimpse of how pharaonic monuments were quarried.

Inside, colossal pylons, cavernous hypostyle halls and beautifully carved reliefs recount the mythic battle between Horus and Seth alongside the temple’s Ptolemaic-era ceremonies. So intact is the building that you can climb to the original roof terraces themselves.
Back on board, the Solaris II resumes her northward journey to Luxor, with lunch served as the river unrolls beside you.
